The chateau, delicately set in parks and water areas, is undoubtedly one of the most valuable and architecturally most important monuments of its kind in the Czech Republic. It features in a number of Czech fairy tales. You will find it 27 km northwest of Písek. The chateau park is open all year round and a large herd of deer roaming freely on its grounds will keep you company. Guided tours of the castle last 60 minutes, and the chateau interiors are decorated mainly with family collections of the Hildprant family.
