35 km north of Písek, the pseudo-gothic chateau of the Schwarzenberg family called Orlík, mirrors on the surface of the Orlík Dam. It derives its name from an eagle‘s nest, and until the valley below was flooded with a dam, it was basically impregnable. Today it is a romantic water castle with a vast park. A cruise liner operates below the Castle.
