The deepest and most watertight dam in the Czech Republic. It was built in 1961 and at its foot the water column measures 70 metres. It is part of the so-called Vltava cascade, which includes the reservoirs of Lipno, Orlík, Kamýk and Slapy. The Orlík Dam is 90 metres high and it is unique because it is composed of concrete segments that connect stripes of genuine rubber.
